The Next Generation

The Next Generation

Every time I drive by this bridge, the Lord grips my heart to pray for the generations. My generation and the generations that come after me. The Lord led me one day to come, pray, and take pictures of this amazing bridge in Pensacola, FL. The bridge is called Graffiti Bridge and young people come from all over to paint on this bridge. Some of the things painted on the bridge are very nasty, and others are not, but what caught my attention was the gifting these young people had. They were using their God-given giftings and creativity. These young people were happy to pose for a picture because they loved that someone was paying attention to them. I remember getting burdened to pray for them and praying for the next generation. I was gripped with intercession for the next generation, and the Lord showed me that He would use these kids powerfully for the next move of His Spirit. Even as I write this now, I’m praying for each kid to be marked by the Lord and to be used powerfully! Touch them, Lord, and may they fulfill their purpose on this earth.

I was born in 1967 and it breaks my heart that since Roe vs. Wade was passed in 1973, over 50 million babies have been aborted. All those giftings and callings were thwarted; that is just what the enemy wants. He wants to kill, steal and destroy because the devil wants to stop the Kingdom of Heaven from advancing. That’s why I believe the cemetery is the richest place in every city. City cemeteries are filled with stolen giftings, callings, and dreams.

Try Tears

This is my favorite, so I will start here. I have never forgotten this quote by Charles Spurgeon “Winners for souls must first be a weepers for souls”. You see the more time we spend with the Lord the more we get his heart and that is for the lost. Jesus’s heart is that no one should perish and their are souls every minute going to eternity. I have learned this thru trial and error. A lot of us want to just pray a couple minutes and then hit the streets to share the gospel. That is like going out to chop down a tree with a dull axe. The tree would get chopped down, but it would take a lot longer. The work would go much quicker with a sharp axe. I love this story that I heard from back in the early days of the Salvation Army. Some of William Booth’s leaders wrote him a letter. They were distraught because they were not seeing a whole lot of fruit happening in the ministry. General Booth would write back to them to “Try Tears”. These leaders took his advice and they saw the Lord move powerfully. I will never forget the times I saw Evangelist Steve Hill preach at the Brownsville Revival. You could tell he spent time with the Lord weeping for the lost. When he would come out to preach, you could see the tears running down his face. Steve would preach an extraordinarily strong message against sin and declare that folks come repent at the altars if they had sin in their lives. No matter how hard the message was, we knew that Steve had been with the Lord and cared about us because of the compassion he had for the lives of the people. He got it from spending time with the Lord. The anointing was strong and people would run to the altar by the thousands. That is what we need in the US again. Believers that would go into the secret place and weep again for the state of our country and lost souls. When we go, we go out with the compassion the Lord has for the lost. Here is the method I learned. When we go out to pray for someone, we look them in the eyes with tears and tell them not to lie to us. We ask them if they know Jesus, not if they know about him. As Steve would say “religion is hanging around the cross, but Christianity is getting on the cross”. There is a lot of people especially in the US that just want a get out of hell free card and want to live for themselves. We need full surrender to Jesus. That is what the Lord wants! Getting on the cross, dying to self and then having the Lord raise us up! Praise God that is the answer!

The Day that Changed My Life Forever

 March 9th, 2014

The Day Rudy Waters died to Himself

This was an incredibly special day! I believe the Lord had knew that he had burned all the desire for ministry and the pulpit out of me. I was content with serving my wife and the precious 3-5-year-old children that we had served all these years. I had no desire for pulpit ministry. He had burned it all out of me. I believe He knew now I was ready to not take any glory for myself. He was about to change my life forever. That evening one of mentors a man we looked up to had gone to be with the Lord. I had heard him preach probably hundreds of times. He was now in the arms of Jesus! I was in my son’s room praying and news came in that Steve Hill the evangelist of the Brownsville Revival had died. Suddenly it struck my heart, that I was not doing what the Lord had called me to do. I was finishing up with my last semester of college pursuing a business degree. I had no idea that ministers from all over the world were doing the same thing. Ministers were being gripped with repentance. I got on my face and cried out in repentance. Screaming I am sorry Lord for being so distracted there are souls out to there to be reached. I will never forget His still small voice speaking to me, asking me this question. Would you be satisfied with my presence and go to the streets to reach the lost? I said I would and have not looked back. I got on the cross that day, died to myself and the Lord resurrected me with newness of life! The Holy Spirit has been with me every step of the way. Praise the Lord for Him giving me another chance! He is the God of many chances! I thank the Lord for His mercy!
